SWAY

The debut album from Justin Pierce featuring Ashley Pierce

Out August 14, 2026

The story behind the record

For twenty years, saxophonist Justin Pierce and vocalist Ashley Pierce have made their living on the bandstand, playing the American songbook in rooms where the music’s real job is to soundtrack a moment between two people: the couple on the dance floor who forgot anyone else was there. Sway, their debut album, bottles that. Husband and wife and musical partners since college, the Pierces recorded these ten classics in a single Dallas session with a rhythm section of One O’Clock Lab Band alumni: pianist Sean Michael Giddings, bassist Young Heo, and Grammy-nominated drummer Matt Young.

The repertoire runs from a tender, waltzing Moon River to Miles Davis’s All Blues recast as a New Orleans second line, with a samba-driven Meglio Stasera sung in Italian along the way. It is a record made to be lived with, danced to, and passed across a kitchen while something simmers.
